love and power

"The center of Christian humanism is the idea that God is love, not infinite power."

  1. I want to say something about the power of love, or spiritual power, being a different kind of power, unlike worldly power, rather than not power at all.
    Does that make sense?

  2. makes sense to me, goodfornowt. I'm a firm believer in "nonviolence", which is that kind of "power". Funny how we trip over ourselves with words like NONviolence and POWER. Seems to me like there is some kind of inherent dichotomy or twist going on. Nonviolence (or love) is the only real power (or force for good) in the universe. Power which rests on violence (which is virtually every other kind of power) is destructive.

Well, I guess I got carried away.

But you definitely make sense to me! Thanks for commenting.
