Pax

“I may be wrong about Pax, but keep feeling that through good poems and pictures, peace can travel.”
— Robert Lax to Thomas Merton, 1953

[The image above is from the third issue of Lax's broadsheet Pax, which he published sporadically from 1958 - 1962, adding three new issues in 1985. HT: Michael McGregor]

  2. HNY everyone! I believe in what Lax said about peace and the role of poems and pictures, yet I realize those participating in reading, listening, and viewing are a small portion of our population. It's as if this way toward peace is less important than politics and entertainment (what seems to be our art form), the latter two mixed in fake news and bravado. My heart is replenished by all those who contribute to what Robert Bly called "the water tank/where the spirit horses drink".
